On November 9, 2018, the New Asia Chamber Music Society (NACMS) hosted its third annual fundraising dinner at The Riverside Church in New York City. The event drew around 200 guests, including Ambassador Lily L.W. Hsu of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York. Together with music students supported by NACMS, NACMS musicians performed classical music and some pieces combining Western instruments and the Chinese erhu.
Many guests donated to support this new generation of musicians and allow them to publish CDs and host more performances. Donors included Warren Huang, the CEO of Amerasia Bank New York; Ming Chiang, CEO of Casual Home; Kim Wang-Neal, a partner of Reid & Wise LLC; the Chinese Performing Arts Foundation; the Chinese Cultural & Arts Institute; and more.
The New Asia Chamber Music Society (NACMS) was founded in 2010 by an entrepreneurial group of young Asian-American virtuosi, including Andy Lin and Nan-Cheng Chen.
