Elite Lifestyle Magazine will hold its first-ever cover model casting event to create opportunities for a new generation of Asians who aspire to become models or actors. We will demonstrate to New York’s top fashion, beauty, makeup, and design circles the talent that Asians possess. Through the selection process, there will be an opportunity to learn from New York’s top supermodels and senior professionals in the beauty and fashion industry and enrich candidates’ experiences.

Three models will be selected through this event. The final winner will become the cover model for Elite Lifestyle Magazine in 2022. She will also be invited to participate in the magazine’s branding activities and receive free trial products. There are also potential opportunities to enter into business partnerships with brands. Through entering this event, you’ll have the chance to enrich your college admissions application and enhance your related career development opportunities. 

Event details:

The model casting process will be divided into three stages.

The first stage: An application screening

From September 1, we will be accepting online applications. The registration deadline is September 25. The jury for this event will select qualified candidates to enter the next stage of screening. All candidates who pass the first stage will be announced on October 2.

The second stage: Catwalk selection process

All candidates who passed the first stage will participate in training activities arranged by the organizer. The following day, they will participate in the catwalk.

On October 16, the organizer will hold a one-day modeling course. Among the jury are New York supermodels and veterans in the beauty and fashion industries in North America, who will directly serve as training instructors and personally guide course students. The training event will also be filmed by award-winning photographer and former president of the Chinese Photographic Society, Larry Dye. The course will focus on the criteria that candidates will be judged on during the catwalk. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that all selected candidates participate. If there are special circumstances, please write to the organizer. Note that candidates will be paying out of pocket for this course and the fee is $350. On October 17, all those selected in the first stage must go to the New York catwalk selection event. On the day of the catwalk, the event will be recorded and broadcast by NTD. The jury will select 9 candidates from the second stage to advance to the third stage—which will be based on readers’ votes. The results from the reader voting will account for 30 percent of the total points given by the jury.

The third stage: Reader online voting

After the second stage, on October 21, the organizer will upload all contestants’ pictures to the event homepage. Readers will then be allowed to conduct online voting, which will end on November 8 at 11:59 p.m. EST. the final results will be determined by the jury. The three finalists will be announced on November 16. One of the three finalists will be selected to become the cover model for Elite’s January-February 2022 issue. The other two finalists will be able to participate in cover photography for future issues. 

Things to note:

In case of unexpected circumstances, the organizer reserves the right to change, postpone, or cancel the event. Participants who advance to the second stage and attend the modeling course must wear yoga clothes that are well-fitted.

Eligibility criteria:

  1. Gender: female
  2. Ethnicity: Asian or Asian descent
  3. Age: 15 to 35 (for girls 18 and under, please refer to the relevant provisions in the ‘rights and obligations’ section)
  4. Height: 5’8’’ and above
  5. U.S. clothing size: 4 or smaller
  6. Other: participants must be physically and mentally healthy, have good facial features, a well-proportioned figure, and good body coordination. Previous modeling experience is preferred.
