On the evening of Dec. 19, Elite Lifestyle Magazine and missKOREA co-hosted a festive holiday party with a special guest, Anastasia Lin, who is 2015 Miss World Canada.
With Anastasia, missKOREA’s founder Sophia Lee introduced two exquisite dishes of Korean imperial cuisine to the several dozen guests who attended the event.
One was Gujeolpan, a platter of nine delicacies including thin crepes, meat, and a colorful array of vegetables. The other was Sinseollo, a hot pot of seafood, meat, and vegetables cooked at the table in a special brass pot. “So this time, I’m also showing how nice Korean food is, and how healthy Korean food is,” Sophia Lee said. “She [Anastasia] tasted some of it, and she agreed with me. So I am very proud of the Korean royal cuisine.”
“It is my pleasure and honor to be here with you tonight and to give you the warmest holiday greetings,” Anastasia said. Among the attendees were popular YouTube food vlogger Mike Chen and the president of the Taiwanese Junior Chamber of Commerce of New York, Andy Lin. Everyone gathered in the elegantly decorated second floor dining area of missKOREA to savor authentic Korean delicacies, punctuated by a festive lottery event.
